Dr. Habbu received her undergraduate degree from Columbia University in New York City and her MD from the Case Western Reserve School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. She attended the University of North Carolina for ophthalmology residency where she was named Chief Resident and was awarded Resident of the Year as well as the award for Clinical Excellence. She completed a fellowship in Ocular Immunology and Uveitis at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute and has been published in numerous high impact journals such as Ophthalmology and the British Journal of Ophthalmology. She has an interest in health equity and is an active participant in her state medical societies, the American Medical Association, and ophthalmology advocacy days on Capitol Hill.


Dr. Habbu treats patients with uveitis and medical retina issues (including macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and retinal vein occlusions) but also specializes in treating cataracts and glaucoma. She has a special interest in refractive cataract surgery including the placement of premium and Toric lenses to help patients achieve glasses-free vision, as well as minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. She also performs aesthetic eyelid surgery.



Dr. Habbu is a member of several professional organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Women in Ophthalmology and the American Uveitis Society. In her free time she enjoys hiking, trying new restaurants and spending time with her family and friends. She is looking forward to moving back to her husband's hometown of Evansville, Indiana and becoming a member of this wonderful community.
